Assistant Professor at Porto School of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where she lectures Fundamental Rights, EU Law, Public International Law and International and European Refugee Law. She completed her master’s degree at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in 2009 and her PhD at the European University Institute (EUI), in the field of European Immigration Law, in 2015. Her monograph, “Illegally Staying in the EU: An analysis of illegality in EU migration Law”, was published in 2018 by Hart Publishing and analyzes the concept of the illegality of irregular migrants' stay from a European Union Law perspective.
She held the position of Teaching Associate at the Gender Governance cluster of the School of Transnational Governance at the EUI. Previously, she lectured at the University of Lisbon’s Law School and was visiting scholar at COMPAS, Oxford University.
Her areas of research are Migration Law, Human Rights and Gender Governance.
